It was in\nAugust 2015, the year in which Richard Kilman, now Virgin Voyages Vice\nPresident of Entertainment, attended <em>Traces<\/em>&nbsp;at the Edinburgh\nInternational Festival, that the two organizations began to grow close. In 2017,\nthe partnership came to fruition as Virgin Voyages put together a creative team\nto realize its next major project: a completely new kind of voyage by sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nassib El-Husseini, CEO of The 7 Fingers, underlines the importance of this\ncollaboration&nbsp;: \u201cI\u2019m very pleased the company can benefit from such an\ninternational exposure. It\u2019s an exceptional opportunity to expand our\ncreativity, through this valued partnership that extends for many years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo kids, no buffets, and no limits,\u201d promises\nVirgin Voyages: a 24\/7 festival at sea where tranquility meets curiosity, and\ntravelers can expect the unexpected. The Scarlet Lady will offer passengers a\nhost of tailor-made, intimate, authentic entertainment, including two original\nproductions created by The 7 Fingers in the principle theater onboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is in the new 7 Fingers Creation Centre, in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal, that the artists have been creating two 60-minute shows: <em>Duel Reality<\/em> and <em>Ships in the Night<\/em>. The first is an acrobatic\u00a0reimagining\u00a0of Shakespeare\u2019s\u00a0<em>Romeo and Juliet<\/em>, staged as a sporting event for 12 circus performers,\u00a0directed by Shana Carroll. <em>Ships in the Night<\/em> is a multimedia cabaret for ten dancers and a singer, into which director Gypsy Snider places two young protagonists in search of their identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three creative labs of one to two weeks have\nalready been held between June 2018 and February 2019 for each of the shows. While\nproduction will continue throughout 2019, the rehearsals with performers will\nresume for eight weeks in January and February 2020, half of which will take\nplace on the ship itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project\u2019s creative team was announced\nby Richard Branson on February 14.
