Since creating their first show, Loft, in 2002, Les 7 Doigts have come a long way.
Today, after almost two dozen “homemade” productions and numerous large-scale collaborations, the collective has become one of the most active Quebec organizations on the international stage.

Milestones

2002      The collective is formed and the first show Loft  is created (directed by all the collective).

2003      Nassib El-Husseini comes in as the collective’s executive director.  
                 A 7 Doigts act is awarded the Prix Nikouline at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris.

2006      Traces is created.  The show goes to be performed more than 2000 times in ten years (directors: Shana Carroll & Gypsy Snider).

2007      La Vie is created in New York (directed by all the collective).
               The first international collaboration of the Fibonacci Project is realized through a creative residency abroad (director: Samuel Tétreault).
                A 7 Doigts act is awarded a gold medal at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris.

2009      Psy is created (director: Shana Carroll).
                 Gypsy Snider directs the show Crime for the National Circus School of Montreal.

2010      Shana Carroll directs the show Il fait Dimanche for the National Circus School of Montreal.
                 Three Canadian Applied Arts Photography prizes are awarded for the poster of Psy by Varial.
2011      Patrick Léonard’s solo show Patinoire is created.
                Traces is listed in Time Magazine’s Top 10 Plays & Musicals.

2012      Séquence 8 is created in Montreal (directors: Shana Carroll and Sébastien Soldevila).
                Amuse is performed in Mexico (directors: Gypsy Snider and Isabelle Chassé).
                Traces wins the Off Broadway Alliance Best Special Event Award.
                A 7 Doigts act is awarded a gold medal at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris.
               Traces is nominated for a Helpmann Award in Australia.
               The collective is awarded the “Prix du CALQ” from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for the North-American tour of Traces.
2013      Murmure du coquelicot, a carte blanche invitation from the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, is created (Directors: Sébastien Soldevila and Shana Carroll).
                 Les 7 Doigts direct the first segment of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
                Gyspy Snider choreographs circus into the Broadway revival of Pippin.  The musical goes on to be presented 1500 times and to win 4 Tony Awards.
               Queen of the Night wins a Drama Desk Award for “Unique Theatrical Experience.”
              Gypsy Snider wins a Drama Desk Award for “Best Choreography” (for Pippin, winner of 4 Drama Desk Awards).

2014      Cuisine & Confessions is created (directors: Shana Carroll and Sébastien Soldevila).
                Intersection, a carte blanche invitation from the Montréal Complètement Cirque Festival, is created (directors: Gypsy Snider and Samuel Tétreault).

2015      Triptyque is created with three guest choreographers (artistic director: Samuel Tétreault)
                Queen of the Night is created in New York, where it plays for 600 shows (circus director: Shana Carroll).
               The collective is granted the “Artistes pour la Paix” (Artists for Peace) award in Montreal.
                Gypsy Snider stages the Edge of Reality show featuring Darcy Oake.
                Gypsy Snider is the choreographer and movement director of Peter Pan 360.
               The collective is awarded the Grand Prix du Conseil des arts de Montréal.
2016      Réversible is created in Montreal (directors: Gypsy Snider et Isabelle Chassé).
                Bosch Dreams is created in Denmark (director: Samuel Tétreault).
                The Circus Princess is created in Russia (director: Sébastien Soldevila).
                Shana Carroll leads the acrobatic direction of Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour.

 

2017      Vice & Vertu is created on the occasion of the City of Montreal’s 375th anniversary celebrations (directors: Samuel Tétreault, Patrick Léonard, Isabelle Chassé).
              Crystal is created with Cirque du Soleil (directors: Shana Carroll and Sébastien Soldevila).

 

2018      Temporel is created in collaboration with Lemieux-Pilon 4D Art (directors: Patrick Léonard, Isabelle Chassé, Shana Carroll).
                The company relocates to its Creation and Production Centre at 2111 St Laurent Boulevard.
                 Les 7 Doigts de la Main Foundation’s fundraising campaign is launched.
                 The company develops it offerings in the Asian market.   
                 Two new touring shows are created.
                 The shows Réversible, Temporel, Patinoire, and Bosch Dreams tour internationally.
                  The Circus Princess continues its run in Moscow, having opened in 2016.
                   An Australian residency for The Fibonacci Project is set up for 2019
