TRACES, the second creation of Les 7 Doigts de la Main, produced and directed by the collective, saw the light of day in 2006 at the Corona Theatre and returns this year with a brand new cast.
Since its creation, TRACES has travelled the globe, going from one success to another in cities such as Paris, Seoul, New York and London, bringing both audiences and critics to their feet.
After dedicating three years of their lives and tremendous energy to the show, the five original TRACES artists will pass the torch to a brand new team.
Forming this new hand, Antoine Auger (Qc), Antoine Carabinier-Lépine (Qc), Geneviève Morin (Qc), Philip Rosenberg (US) and Nael Jammal (Fr) have been intensively rehearsing for the last two months, in preparation to take the reins. Just as the originals, these five new multi-disciplinary artists are all in their twenties and each graduates of the National Circus School of Montreal.
It was only natural to choose to perform a sort of “sneak preview” for the Montreal audience, always the first to receive each of the 7 Doigts’ endeavors.
As in 2006, the Corona performances are under a Work In Progress heading, allowing the Montreal public to be the first to witness this newest version of the show, and allowing the performers to evolve and test out their material in front of a live audience.
TRACES will depart soon after for three more years of tour, beginning with France, Spain and Australia…
