The new Les 7 Doigts creation, SisterS
at Théâtre Outremont, July 8 to 14

Montréal, March 26, 2018 ◌ Les 7 DOIGTS DE LA MAIN are working hard at creating a new show, SisterS, which will have its world premiere at the upcoming MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE.
In keeping with other LES 7 DOIGTS productions, this new story told as a fairy tale will bring the audience into an experiential and human journey, exploring the beauty and complexity of the passionate relationship that undoubtedly connects two sisters. Created and performed by Ayin and Miriam de Sela, directed by LES 7 Doigts’s Gypsy Snider, SisterS, takes us into a world where the scenery is made of sounds, odours and images, through a skilfully absurd humorous tale. As with any good fairy tale, SisterS also has its prince, performed by William Underwood, who has been seen in several Les 7 Doigts productions.
Sisters Ayin and Miriam de Sela discovered the circus when they met Gypsy Snider in San Francisco in the early 80s. After training together for a long period, the three nomadic artists and friends parted ways. The de Sela sisters attended the National Circus School before taking part in various projects worldwide. Together again, the three of them have created a show that combines their passions: circus, dance, theatre, clown, music and… perfumes.
SisterS is magnified by the lasting music of their lost sister, Lhasa de Sela. Her meaningful music is given its own role, and the production’s original soundtrack banks on an amazing combination of her work and the influence of artists with whom she loved to collaborate, including harpist Sarah Pagé (Barr Brothers) who will be on the Théâtre Outremont stage.
Surprises, new features and strong emotions await festival-goers for this 9th MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE, which will take place July 5 to 15. All the details on the indoor programming will be unveiled in May.

Montréal, 26 mars 2018 ◌ Les 7 DOIGTS DE LA MAIN sont en pleine création d’un nouveau spectacle présenté en première mondiale dans le cadre de la prochaine édition de MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE : SisterS.
Dans la lignée des productions des 7 DOIGTS, cette nouvelle histoire, à la manière d’un conte de fées, transportera le public dans un voyage expérientiel et humain, explorant toute la beauté et la complexité de la relation passionnelle qui lie inexorablement deux sœurs. Conçu et interprété par Ayin et Miriam de Sela, mis en scène par Gypsy Snider des 7 DOIGTS, SisterS, nous plonge dans un monde où le paysage est fait de sons, d’odeurs et d’images, au fil d’un conte à l’humour subtilement absurde. Que serait un conte de fées sans prince ? Celui-ci sera interprété par William Underwood que l’on a vu dans plusieurs spectacles des 7 Doigts.
Les sœurs Ayin et Miriam de Sela ont découvert le cirque lorsqu’elles ont rencontré Gypsy Snider à San Francisco au début des années 80. Après s’être longtemps entraînées ensemble, les trois amies ont été séparées par leurs vies d’artistes nomades. Les soeurs de Sela ont notamment fréquenté l’École nationale de cirque de Montréal (ÉNC) avant de participer à divers projets à travers le monde. Aujourd’hui à nouveau réunies, elles ont créé en trio un spectacle qui conjugue leurs passions : cirque, danse, théâtre, clown, musique et… parfums.
SisterS est magnifié par l’empreinte musicale de leur sœur disparue, Lhasa de Sela. Sa musique, imprégnée de sens, est élevée ici au rang de personnage et la bande originale du spectacle déploie une stupéfiante combinaison du travail de Lhasa et de l’influence d’artistes avec qui elle aimait travailler, dont la harpiste Sarah Pagé (Barr Brothers) que l’on retrouvera, sur la scène du Théâtre Outremont.
La 9e édition de MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE se tiendra du 5 au 15 juillet prochain. Une édition pleine de surprises, de nouveautés et d’émotions fortes attend les festivaliers. Tous les détails de la programmation en salle seront dévoilés en mai.
